Mikayla 12

Mikayla turned 12 this year!  Mikayla's birthday celebration was much like Caileigh's this year.  Presents in the morning, take out lunch and then hamburgers and ice cream cake in the evening.  Mikayla video chatted with her best friend and we enjoyed a movie in the evening.

Mikayla is a spunky, funny creative girl. I marvel at how she sees the world through an artistic lens.  We are so glad that she is ours!

Christmas 2020

Christmas was quiet this year.  Nanee and Bupee were meant to come but due to Covid restrictions and Bupee's medical situation, they weren't able to travel here this year.  We enjoyed our time together as a family.  We spent time with family on Zoom and enjoyed a ham dinner Christmas night.  We saved the turkey dinner for New Years day.  As we did at Thanksgiving, it was a privilege to be able to take meals to those that were alone this year.

On the 26th, we celebrated Grandma's birthday by dropping off waffles and then eating together online.  We also ordered Chinese food as tradition dictates.

December

We decided to have an online Watson Family Christmas Concert this year.  Nanee and Bupee, Auntie Misty and Uncle Randy, Uncle Matthew, Grandma and Bupee all attended.  Mikayla MC'd and Alex, Jordan and Caileigh all played two songs each.  It was a fun special time with the family.

Leading up to Christmas we also enjoyed going on a Christmas light tour drive and decorating the tree.  We also combined our light tour with a Secret Santa gift drop off.  This was a lot of fun.  Grandma followed along with Ellie in her vehicle.

Aiden has been able to snowboard up Silver Star a couple of times each week and managed to fit in 10 snowboard session in the month of December.

Alex and Jordan started a snow shoveling business and made over $200 in the month of December.  They have several regular customers and have been prepaid through to the end of January.  They're excited to be saving up for a Nintendo Switch.

We also watched plenty of Christmas movies and ate lots of popcorn:)

Kids have been having fun learning to embroider.  Alex made this for Caileigh.

Caileigh 14

We had a relaxed time for Caileigh's birthday this year due to the restrictions.  She opened some presents in the morning and then I took Caileigh to pick up some take out lunch.  We stopped by Grandmas where Caileigh opened some gifts and said hello to Ellie.  Caileigh had piano lessons in the afternoon and then we had a delicious hamburger and ice cream cake dinner.  We watched a movie in the evening.  On the 18th, Caileigh had an online party with her friends.  We dropped off birthday packages at their house that included pizza, chips, candy and then the girls streamed movies that they could watch together.

Caileigh is a hardworking, clever, tender hearted girl and so easily pleased!

I am so glad that she is ours.

Oct/Nov

The late fall continued with school, lessons and trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.  The moments of mild weather have made it so lovely to take walks and continue to explore the outdoors.  As Covid continues to spread, restrictions have been made again to stay close to home as much as possible and limit interactions of groups.  Our pipeband has moved to online chanter practice and our church moved to online services as the end of November.  The kids continue to thrive amidst the changes and are proving how resilient we can be.
