Easter

Sean came home for Easter weekend.
We did an egg hunt for the kids on Saturday morning.
Sunday we enjoyed church online and had a ham dinner.
We also celebrated Sean's birthday as he will be working on the coast for his birthday.
6 more weeks and he'll be home.

(There's always one to ruin a nice photo:)

April at Home

In a time where there are so many things that are different, I'm thankful for the many things that have stayed the same.  I'm thankful that the kids can continue schooling and that their activities have adjusted to allow them continue.  While online lessons would not be my first choice, it has kept the rhythms to our day.  These are not easy times.  There is so much uncertainty.  I am clinging to the security and hope that He brings and trusting that all things will work out for His good as He promises.

Some of the April things......

Mikayla received a candy making kit from Grandma and enjoyed making suckers.

Kids have become obsessed with playing "baseball" using sticks and a softball.

Toby has his collar and tag and spends most of his days outside now.

Zoom piano lesson.

Skype Violin lessons.
Alex was playing a duet with his teacher.
Piping on Zoom.
While we don't play the pipes, we do practice with the chanter and enjoy some chatting.

On April 1 I woke up to the usual kids pranks.
These eggs are Sean's management team.  My milk was also dyed.
The pets are clueless to any worldwide pandemic.

There's been so much baking!
Trying homemade bagels.

Teaching the kids to bake bread.

Comparing cinnamon bun recipes.

Deep Fried Pickles.
Why not?!
Homemade stress ball.

Interesting trips to the store.

Visits with Gigi through the window.  She's doing so well!

Mikayla has been spending hours creating areas for her dolls.

A friend gave the boys their old Lego table.  The boys are enjoying creating scenes and then they will be making stop motion films.

They are always coming up with ways to entertain themselves.

Learning about motion with pendulum painting.

Always math.

Our church did a fun scripture scavenger hunt and we participated.  This is the verse we put outside our house for others to find.
Seemed quite fitting:)

Making solar ovens.

It really worked!

And there's always whipped coffee.  Yummy!

Kalamalka Provincial Park

On Palm Sunday, the youngest four and I enjoyed a beautiful walk through Kalamalka Provincial Park.  We were planning to hike to the viewpoint but once we got to the climbing tree, the kids wanted to spend their time playing there.  It was nearly 2:00 when we head back and it was because we were getting hungry as we hadn't had lunch.  I had hoped that we could be walking here regularly but now the provincial parks have closed so we'll have to wait a little while.
