Mikayla's 8th Birthday

We enjoyed celebrating Mikayla's 8th birthday.  She was awake bright and early, eager to open her gifts.  After gifts her request was to watch a couple of morning TV shows.

Mikayla and I went on a date together.  She had so much fun picking out a teeny boo and a pack of gum.

As a surprise, I took her to the pet store and told her she could pick out a Beta fish.  Tough decisions!

We went to the coffee shop after and she was agonized trying to name her fish.  She looked up at the sign and finally settled on the perfect name......Pekoe:)

In the afternoon, Sean took the older kids skating up at the school.

A colourful, bright rainbow cake, just like our colourful, bright girl:)

We ended the evening off with mexican food, rainbow cake and a movie.

It was great fun to celebrate Miky Moo.
Mikayla is the definition of spunk.  She has limitless energy and bounds of vigor and feistiness.  She is fun to be around and makes the life of any party.  She is the perfect middle child providing us with laughter and joy.

Sledding with Friends

Christmas 2016

It was a wonderful Christmas this year.
We enjoyed the company of Sean's parents, Nanee and Bupee.
With Christmas falling on a Sunday, we did things different this year.
Christmas Eve was spent playing games, visiting and anticipating our turkey dinner.  After dinner we opened pyjamas.  The kids played christmas carols on the piano and we had a sing a long.  Auntie was skyped in for the occasion.
After, Nanee read a story to the kids.
It was a relaxing, enjoyable day.

Christmas morning the kids were up by 6.  They opened stockings and relaxed until breakfast.  We enjoyed pancakes, bacon and cinnamon buns.

After breakfast we got ready for church.

We arrived home from church and changed back into our pyjamas:)
We spent the afternoon snacking on goodies and opening gifts.  It was so relaxing for me because dinner was already prepared since we were having leftovers from the night before.

Even the dogs enjoyed some treats!  We are dog sitting our neighbours dog.

Boxing day was spent enjoying some of the new crafts and gifts.  We enjoyed a ham dinner in the evening and played a game.

Annual Christmas Party

We hosted our annual Christmas Party with friends yesterday.  There were four other families that attended.(19 kids!)
The kids had fun making Christmas tree snacks.
After, some of the kids played outside and some watched a Christmas movie.  This allowed us moms to have fun making some Christmas crafts ourselves.
It was a really special time spent with friends:)
