Alex and Jordan are 8

Where did my babies go?!

Alex and Jordan are pretty neat little guys.  They keep our household hopping!
They are energetic, self assured and constantly on the move.
They are inquisitive so often busy getting into trouble.  They react first, think later.  A few weeks ago after watching a karate movie, Alex kicked a hole through the dry wall!  I regularly find knives and other sharp objects under their pillow!  If anything goes missing, we always ask the boys first.
But, they are also so sweet, loving and cuddly.
And enthusiastic!

(Alex)

Alex is extremely social and loves making new friends.  He's not shy to introduce himself and his latest phrase is, "My name is Alexander but you can call me Alex for short."  Alex is a charmer and knows just what to say to melt my heart.  He regularly tells me that I'm the best mommy in the whole world.
Alex loves scootering, swimming and creating with Lego.  He's graduated to chapter books and reads a chapter to me each night.  Alex has trouble "listening" and needs to be encouraged to be helpful but once he does he will often go beyond his duties and do more.  Alex will often buddy up with Caileigh.  They're very close.
Alex worries that he's always the one who gets hurt and truth be told, he has been to the ER more than anyone else.
A while back, I told Alex that God had big plans for him and Alex replied, "Oh man!  I hope I won't become a banker!"

(Jordan)
Jordan is interested in trying new activities and is always trying to keep up with Aiden.  He will often wait to make decisions to see what Aiden decides first.  He loves it when Aiden teaches him trampoline or scootering skills.  Jordan likes reading, drawing and watching Aiden play Mine Craft.  Jordan makes friends easily and enjoys coming up with ideas for his friends to do.  Jordan is extremely helpful and always gets his chores done quickly.  Jordan is diligent with his school work and stays on task.  He loves to snuggle at the end of the day.
Jordan was recently thinking about how people lived in history without electricity and he said, "You know how people in the past didn't have electricity ?......well, they should have just kept living until now!"

The boys love going to the beach.  They enjoy building sand castles or jumping off the dock.

Alex and Jordan are extremely close but are also comfortable doing their own thing.  Whenever we enter a social setting they immediately go off on their own to find their own friend to spend time with.

I hope these two continue to grow in friendship, enjoying their special bond.

Auntie Misty's Visit

Auntie Misty visited.  Saturday, despite the cool weather, we went to the beach.  It wasn't warm but it didn't stop the kids from swimming.  I was convinced it was going to clear up but after two hours of waiting for hot sunshine, we went home:)

Afternoon card games on the deck.

A mini birthday celebration for the boys.  They received spy kits!

Sunday was hot and beautiful!  We went to church in the morning and then the kids lounged around while I weeded the garden and Sean and Misty went out for lunch.

Then the beach!

Was a great weekend to spend with the kids favourite Auntie!

Caileigh's Appendectomy

(Brave girl heading into surgery!)

Father's Day weekend, we enjoyed a fun morning at the Sunshine Festival.  Around lunch Caileigh complained of a stomach ache.  By dinner she was in tears with pain and I have never seen Caileigh act like that before.  She is extremely stoic.  Into the ER we went.  She had blood work taken and an ultrasound done.  I was surprised when they came in to announce that Caileigh would be having surgery!  We arrived at the ER at 6, surgery was at 10 and she was in recovery by 10:45.  My mom and I stayed at the hospital until 1 and then went home for a couple of hours of sleep as Sean had to work the next day.  I was back in by 7 and felt bad as Caileigh had barely slept from throwing up all night.  They were concerned because her blood pressure and pulse were running high but they finally gave her Gravol and she was able to sleep for several hours.  They let us go home by 3. A very full 24 hours!

Finally resting.

3 days later!  Kids are amazing.
