While Sean has been off on field trips with the oldest three, I have been able to enjoy time with my youngest two.
These two are so much fun!
We've been talking to our kids about the different gifts that we see in them that God has given to them.  I believe that Alex and Jordan have the gift of joy!  A ready smile to everyone they meet and not afraid to hug a stranger.
When these two are alone they play so well together (for the most part).  They also seemed more focused on the activities at hand.
I have really enjoyed the time spent with them playing outside, exploring a variety of crafts and reading books.

A "new to us" Power Wheels Jeep was handed down to us earlier in the week.
So much fun for the boys!
Alex has picked up the driving skills pretty quick but poor Jordan is a force to be reckoned with.
 Two words, "Watch Out"!

{They spent over 45min on this craft!}

A few things:

Alex has suddenly taken to be called Alexander.  This is not a name that we typically call him unless I am calling him by one of my nicknames Allie-Zander.  He is quite adamant and will correct you right away.
"No Alexander!"

Gramma called Jordan by his full name, Jordan Shea and he said, "No Jordan Zander"

It has really cooled off here in the mornings and there is often fog.
Alex will say, "Oh no, it's soggy outside".

Jordan runs through the house shouting, "Me Super Boy!"

No words needed:)

A week of Field Trips

The past week has been one for field trips.  The kids went on a trip with Gramma to Barkerville.  They got to spend the night in Quesnel and then spend the following day at Barkerville enjoying all the activities and sights that were offered.  They all enjoyed the singing show toward the end of the day and their stagecoach ride as well.

Early this week the kids went on a day trip to Hat Creek Ranch with a group of homeschoolers.  They got to explore the old settlement as well as the Aboriginal Center.  They learned about traditional native foods, homes and clothing.
They also got to enjoy a stagecoach ride and make arrowhead necklaces.

Finally, the kids spent several hours exploring the Williams Lake River Valley salmon spawning with the Nature Explorer homeschool group.  They hiked the trails, played games and learned about salmon from a local tour guide.  It's been fun to see them re-enact the life of a salmon.

September Holidays

Early this week saw us down on the coast with a quick visit to Vancouver.  We roamed the zoo and enjoyed seeing all the animals.

"Alex, what did you see at the zoo?"
"Animals!"

A visit with my grandparents.  So special!  I loved getting to see them and watch their faces as they watched the kids play.

Great Auntie Margaret and Great Auntie Ina!  A wonderful visit with these two special Aunts.

Fall Fair 2013

It was the local Fall Fair this past weekend.  The kids had fun entering some of their projects.  Everyone walked away with a ribbon except for Jordan but he seemed oblivious. He was just happy to have participated so all was well.
