Powell River

Last week we had an incredible visit to Powell River!
This was my first time back since we left 4 1/12 years ago.  The little guys, and Mikayla got to see the house that they lived in when they were born.  We visited the new bike park, the beach, our favourite old parks and many, many more favourite spots.
I miss home so much now!  The coast is just so fresh and lovely. Sean and I both commented on having felt more alive than we have in years.
Really hoping that moving back can be a reality in the next few years.
Unfortunately I left my camera in Powell River but here are a few phone pictures until I can post more at a later date.........

It will certainly  be an interesting school year with my two youngest.

Nanee and Bupee

Originally, Nanee and Bupee planned to visit in July but due to our unexpected stomach flu, they rescheduled.  With Bupee's poor immune system, they can't risk getting sick before their Europe trip this August.
They arrived the day before Aiden's birthday and ironically, Jordan ended up coming down with a fever on Aiden's birthday.  Everyone else managed to stay healthy though!
Kids enjoyed lunch dates and we all enjoyed a walk to the falls.

Aiden at Ten

Ten things that Aiden would like to remember about being ten......

1.  Love Lego
2.  Love going to bike parks and BMXing
3.  Saved up money and bought his own BMX
4.  First birthday to be rained on
5.  Loves hamburgers and pizza
6.  Loves pop
7.  Loves chips and ice cream
8.  Enjoys spending time with Colin
9.  Loves Star Wars
10.  Enjoys watching movies and playing games like Risk

Aiden's 10th!!

Aiden is 10.
Double digits!
Amazing!

We tend to have parties with friends, every other year.  This was an off year but we still had several families over the day before his birthday, for a fun afternoon including cupcakes.  Amongst our friends there are four August birthdays so we celebrated them all together.

Aiden has been saving up money for the last several months to buy a new BMX bike.  He has spent hours researching the best bike to buy and visiting different stores to compare bikes and prices.  He knew he was going to be close after his birthday but wasn't sure if he would have enough.  We decided that because he was close enough, we would buy the bike on his birthday and then the bike could be waiting for him in the garage until he earned off the rest of the money.  Aiden was thrilled to discover that after opening all his birthday cards, he had enough money for his new bike!

The morning of Aiden's birthday, he went up to Williams Lake with Sean, on a father/son adventure.  They purchased Aiden's new bike and helmet and went out for a birthday lunch.  After lunch, they spent some time at the bike park trying out new moves.

(Earning money for watering gardens and feeding chickens)

(Counting his money on the drive to Williams Lake)

(When the waiter asked how the food was, Aiden replied, "life changing".

After the guys arrived home, we had a mexican feast for dinner and the Death Star cake for dessert.

(As my Dad says, "death by skittles")

(Aiden's new Slave 1 Lego set that he built in about 4 hours)

In the words of Aiden, "This was the awesomest day of my entire life!"
