Sean and I had a wonderful time away. It was surprising to both of us just how exhausted we really are. The moment you get away from the constant frenzy of activity, you have a moment to just breath and be alone in your thoughts. It was invigorating
It was also extremely exciting for Sean and I to re-discover how much we enjoy spending time together!

We also bought ourselves a 2006 Toyota Sienna which will fit our family of 7! We were able to get a good price on a lease return and only 20 000 km.
.

The ultrasound went well. My due date has officially been moved to the 12th which means during my ultrasound I was 29 weeks and 1 day and the boys were measuring 29 weeks and 28 weeks 6 days which is pretty close on. There were two distinct placentas, which I thinks means that they are most likely fraternal. There was a slight concern with my shortening cervix. I originally measured 4cm. and this time was measuring 2.5. The Dr. has put me on lessened activity for 2 weeks until I go back for an ultrasound on May 10th to have it re-checked. Hopefully it is not shortening and all will be well! I need to keep these boys in for 6 more weeks in order to be able to deliver in Powell River. It was great to get another little glimpse of the babies and Sean was able to see them this time too! They both remain extremely active!

Happy Birthday Sean!!

You are my best friend and I am so blessed to have you in my life. You are an amazing father, an incredibly hard worker and you put a smile on my face everyday. I hope this day is everything special and wonderful.

This last week has been very nice. Sean wasn't meant to have any time off until the boys arrive, however, his work has been extremely demanding lately with bi/monthly trips out of town, projects, and just his regular 60 hour a week stress. He decided to take this past week off and it has been great to spend time with him and catch up on some things around the house. Today we ventured to the opening of the Farmers Market. It was cold and a little wet but we managed to stay long enough to enjoy a pony ride and some cookies!

Mikayla, up until recently, hasn't been too interested in climbing. I think because she is small, it has been physically more difficult for her to manage our furniture. Now that she has figured it out, I am constantly finding her places she shouldn't be.

Aiden loves practicing his reading on Mikayla and she seems to equally enjoy this time!

Caileigh, my extremely capable baker!

I am also now 28 weeks pregnant! I can honestly say that up until this point there hasn't been much difference between a twin and single pregnancy. Now, however, I feel like I am at the end of my pregnancy and in reality there are still 10 weeks (or so) to go. I have been measuring my stomach for the last month and I seem to grow about an inch a week. I now measure 40 inches around. My morning sickness has made an appearance again and for the last three weeks I feel like I am in first trimester again. I have started to take the Diclectin again to find some relief.

Here I am at 26 weeks

Doesn't this view look crazy!
28 weeks
I don't think there appears to be much difference in the photos but in real life there is definite change, especially in the way that my clothes fit.

On Tuesday I go to the island for an ultrasound. I am anxious and excited to hopefully hear that the boys are growing well and that there are no signs of pre-term labour. Sean and I are then going to stay overnight and return Wednesday night. This will be the first time we have been away from the kids since Aiden was born. I am SO EXCITED!!

The kids had fun playing with our old "treasures" as we cleaned out the basement yesterday. What a task!! We are free of all the garbage and now just need to finish with the organizing side of things.
Here is our poor man's trampoline!

Mikayla enjoyed her first playdough experience.

Caileigh was enjoying some water play in the sink and Sean comments that she is already so wet, she my as well jump in. Well, literal three year old did just that.
Mikayla loves her bath too but prefers hers the traditional way.

My group of dancers recently put on a special show for their parents. The older girls created their own choreography dances as well as performing the more traditional dances. It was extremely fun and we look forward to doing it again!

A visit for Papa and Gigi

I woke up on Friday missing my grandparents. It has been six months since I have seen them and with the changes in our life it will be many more months before I am able to travel down and see them again. I realized that my family is the smallest it will ever be and my belly is the smallest it will be for a while too! I enlisted the help of my Mom and we came to a final decision Friday night. We would travel to Vancouver and surprise Gigi and Papa for Easter. We left early Saturday morning and arrived home last night. It was wonderful, exhausting, and everything that traveling with small children entails, yet most importantly, wonderful!

Kisses for papa.
A dancer and her great-grandpa.
A special dance performance.
Giggles galore.
Found Easter eggs.
Disappointed with empty easter eggs.
As Aiden would say, "lego of course!"
The frenzy of it all.
Family togetherness.
