Fish Friday

Today Sean took Aiden for his first fishing adventure. Aiden has been talking about going since last summer and so when Sean made the impromtu decision, Aiden was beside himself with excitement.
Here they are practicing their casting off the deck. He was a natural right from the start!

There was another man fishing from a paddle boat out in the lake and he had watched Aiden and Sean fishing for awhile without catching anything. When he got a fish on his line, he rowed into shore and handed the rod over to Aiden. He was then able to reel the line in all by himself and catch his first fish!! This happened a second time as well and Aiden was so excited to come home with his prize catch.

I sent the boys off with a container of ju-jubes thinking that if Aiden didn't catch anything then it would be a good distraction. Well apparently Aiden ate the whole container and informs me that they won't be taking candy next time as it made him a "little fidgety". I can only imagine!

Yesterday we said goodbye to Sean's youth. Well, not quite, but we did say goodbye to the truck that Sean has faithfully driven for the last 12 years. When Sean and I first met 11 years ago, this was the truck that we would take impromptu trips in. We were always looking for new places to explore, fish and camp. Sean was quite sad to see it go but we feel that we will get more use out of having the two mini-vans. This way both vehicles are family friendly and we can divide and conquer when it comes to errands and outings.
Sunday night was meant to be our "final farewell drive", however 5 mins. down the road I realized it wasn't a good idea. A very pregnant woman driving in a pick up is a sure fire way to start up labour! We were in it for a total of 30mins and I had over 6 contractions and felt miserable the whole time. I think I would rather remember the good times of the past and stoically let the truck go.
We let the kids play in it before we drove it over to the new owners.

Good bye dear truck. Goodbye.

34 weeks

I had my last ultrasound last week and both the boys looked good. They were measuring around 4 lbs 14 oz! My cervix is unchanged and the Dr. is pleased. I have still been struggling with my rib which the Dr. says can be inflammation or tearing from the ligament of the ribs. I try to rest in between my activity and a hot pack seems to help. There isn't much else that can be done. Besides that, I feel really good. I have been getting a lot more braxton hicks and lower pressure from twin A who is quite low. Twin B remains breach. My weight gain is around 50 lbs but I refuse to calculate the kg. conversion. My belly is measuring 41 1/2 inches and seems to be growing down low rather than out.
Other news, the official c-section date has been set for.........
JUNE 30!!!
That is 4 weeks away. Oh. My. Goodness.

Happy 17 months little sister.....soon to be big sister.
You make us smile
and we love you so.
Love Aiden and Caileigh

*Mikayla seemed fairly "off" last week and when I looked in her mouth I could see a molar nearly ready to pop through.
Two days ago I looked back in her mouth and all 4 molars have popped in!!
no wonder she wasn't feeling well.
This brings her total to 11 teeth.

Also, a new behavior of Mikayla's that seems slightly untimely is that whenever one of the kids come and sit in my lap,
Mikayla becomes angry and will hit and scream so that she can be the one sitting in my lap.
Let's hope this behavior turns around before the babies arrive!!
