A few things.....

Aiden has a way of making me feel incredibly old when he talks about things 'way back in the 1900's' and then I realize he's talking about my childhood. eg.  "Mom, did you have TV back in the 1900's when you were growing up?"

The boys attempted to roast marshmallows on the gas stove.  It was one sticky mess!

I was getting dressed up for our church dinner and Aiden walks in, "Wow Mom!  You look great.  You look like someone who cares about fashion!"

The older two and I have been discussing issues within our family, our community, and the province.  I asked them to write about an issue that they felt strongly about.  Caileigh wrote about recycling and Aiden wrote the following letter.......

Dear Mommy and Daddy,
I think that whining is a big issue in the family.  I think that for the young two you should put them in their rooms for five minutes and for the older three you should put us in our room for 15min. and we lose TV.  If that doesn't work lets have a meeting.

Good old Dion our 15 year old cat who spends his days lounging in our room free from the chaos of small children and a dog.

I love the age that Aiden and Caileigh are at.  They picked out a recipe,  followed it, put it in and out of the oven all while I was upstairs doing laundry.  It tasted really yummy too!  It was called Chocolate Swirl bar.

We watched The Polar Express for the first time.  Aiden had to immediately go build a replica of the train.  I think it turned out great.

Aiden sewed Caileigh a purse for her birthday next week.  I have very little experience with sewing but it is something I would like to start learning about.  I'm thinking maybe the older two and I will take a sewing course in the next year or two.
