The other night, before bed, Aiden and Caileigh were busy on some form of project. When I went to check on them, I found this.....
A diaper box filled with a water bowl and a cardboard snack.
The note reads as follows:
"Go in the box, there is some meat and some water."
Apparently their goal is to trap the monster and then dispose of it so that it will not instill fear in them any longer.
So far, no such luck but we haven't given up yet!

ReplyDeleteClever children.
ReplyDeleteAnd who do you think is going to dispose it? Hmmmmmm. Mama?
Doesn't that just make you want to check every morning to see what's been caught. Tell Aiden & Caileigh that 'I'm hooked' & can hardly wait to hear what happens. Sleep well it's covered!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Kidlets!! I heard somewhere that monsters like peanut butter, and it's so sticky that it glues their mouths shut :o)
ReplyDeleteoh my that is so funny! And really cute! I hope they "catch" it soon and their fear of the "monster" ends soon too, poor kids.
ReplyDeleteso inventive! Kids' imaginations are so complex, the very thing that creates the fear of the unknown is the same thing that inspires a solution to the problem.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a lock on the utility closet door at night would give them some peace. Or....leaving the door wide open would ease in his /her escape. I think with the nicer weather fast approaching, whoever is in there will want to be outdoors and probably won't return!!!! this is making me nervous even writing it!!! one of your cousins used to hear a giant's heart beat every night until he realized it was his own pulse !!!! Good luck!! and lots of love.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness Auntie Jean......I used to hear my heartbeat and think it was footsteps too!!! That is hillarious!
ReplyDeleteOh Aiden, we used to find your Daddy sleeping in strange places too. I can't imagine the monster is that old and hasn't been caught. He didn't think about laying a trap for it. Hope you catch him soon - he needs to find another place to live - high on a mountain, deep in a forrest sounds like a good spot. Mikki, you are way too cute - love you to bits!!!
