This summer we received news that Safeway would be closing down the store that Sean was working in. His options were to stay with Safeway and most likely be transferred again, apply to work at Fresh Co, the new store taking over his location, or to find new work entirely. We feel that we have just settled into Vernon so we were not interested in having too move again. We would like to stay in Vernon until the kids have grown up. After much deliberation, we chose to have Sean apply to work for Fresh Co. He had to undergo an interview and then wait a couple of months to receive the news that he received the position. Fresh Co is a franchise so he will be buying into the store and then managing/running it. His store closes at the end of November and then he will be spending a couple of months out of town helping other stores during their opening. His store will re-open under Fresh Co next April. This is a new adventure for us so we will see where it takes us.
