Sean returned to work today after a week's holidays. It was his first holidays since arriving in 100 Mile back in December. We managed a little get away as well as some family time back home.

We drove down to Vancouver on the 9th (my birthday) and spent some time with Poppa and Gigi and my Mom.
The kids had their traditional ice cream cone after arriving.

Mirror image explorers. (You can see that Alex crawls traditionally now)

On the 10th we spent some time at Science World.

We drove to Kamloops that afternoon and stayed in a hotel.

Here are the boys at 6am!! This was after their initial 4am wake up
..........not fun, although they didn't seem to mind.

On the 11th, we stopped at Hat Creek Ranch and toured the old mining town. It was an extremely windy day but we managed to enjoy our time of exploration.
For some reason this goat had it in for Mikayla. When her back was turned, he came up behind her and knocked her over.
Apparently goats like green.
Apparently Mikayla does not like goats.
The highlight was Aiden getting to pan for gold. We have been studying rocks/minerals for the last 2 months and Aiden has been extremely anxious to try this out. He managed to find a few pieces of Pyrite and could be heard screaming, "I found gold!!! I found gold!!!" much to the delight of the bystanders.
After arriving back home we enjoyed time as a family.
We spent lot's of time outdoors. Our new favorite activity is having fires after dinner and roasting marshmallows. I have a feeling we'll be doing this a lot during the summer.
We started our garden and it will be interesting to see what ends up growing well during this short growing season. So far we've planted cucumber, nasturtiums, sunflowers (inside) and potatoes, beans and peas outside. We still have carrots, squash, zuchinni and corn to plant later this month. Our garden currently has raspberries and rhubarb.

Alex's first taste of Pineapple.
They both ended up loving it!
