Date

I posted back in May, about how Sean and I went on our first real date in three years.  My friends watched the kids all day so Sean and I could enjoy my birthday together with just the two of us.  After this, my neighbour and I discussed the idea of trading childcare once a month to enable us to go out with our spouses.  I loved the idea!
For June, Sean and I's date included running errands. It is a very different experience being able to run errands as just the two of us and I realize that I live my life on fast forward and thrive on efficiency and time restrictions.  I find it hard to slow down and take the time to enjoy running errands instead of planing out the routes that best make use of my time.  It's quite comical.
After errands we had lunch and then went to the driving range!  This is something I haven't done in over a decade!  While I am not quite ready or up to the challenge of playing a full round of golf, I really enjoyed our time at the driving range.  I love being able to hit balls repeatedly.  I did not like having such sore arms the next day:)

I can't wait to see what our July date entails!

This and That

Summer has officially arrived and now we just need some consecutive hot days to prove it!

We finished up school back in April, but we've been carrying on with a little math, writing, reading and piano each day.  I find the morning routine ties our day together.  Because it is summer break, we are also able to easily skip school if there are other activities to go to.  We've continued to host our co-op group each Friday and have been having fun with different activities like making barbecue sauce for Father's Day and various art activities.  We have no problem filling our days with fun activities.  Here is a glimpse of things lately.........

Sean recently bought another vehicle and I now find it hard to believe that we've only had one car for the past two years. We've been out every day!   Sean bought a Toyota Corolla 'sports edition'.  The kids have termed the car, "The Sports Car".  I suppose this is because the kid's only experience is mini vans.  It makes me laugh when the kids tell people all about Daddy's new sports car and then I have to interject that it is just a Toyota Corolla.

Popsicles and Park, our Saturday routine.
Fun at a friend's house.
Pro chicken wranglers.

The older three are attending swim lessons twice a week and really enjoying it.  I'm hoping for Alex and Jordan to start this summer.

They're getting so much better at patiently waiting during the lessons!
Colouring at swim lessons.
Playing at piano lessons.

Our garden is coming along nicely.  We have lettuce, onions, carrots, peas, potatoes, rhubarb, raspberries and strawberries.

Daily bike riding!  Aiden's getting great at fixing his own minor bike issues.

Pizza night with friends.  We're blessed to have such great neighbours.  The kids play together at least 4 times a week.  They are truly like siblings:)

Movie night with friends.

Picnics.

Caileigh loves to organize activities for the younger kids.  Aiden, Caileigh and Emily organized a tea party for Avery and Mikayla.

Craft time organized by Caileigh.

Aiden finally got a nerf gun, something he has been wanting for a long time!

Having a lemonade stand for Justice, a young boy that lives in our neighbourhood that has just been diagnosed with Leukemia.  Please keep him in your prayers.

Kids at the piano recital.  They all played well.

One week away from Alex and Jordan turning 4!!
Also, Aiden and Caileigh are traveling to the grandparent's homes on their own for a week. (huge milestone!) More to come on this later..........
